The Hargreaves Foundation supports Rett UK

November 2021

The Trustees of The Hargreaves Foundation were delighted to be able to offer funding to Rett UK to support the roll out of their eye gaze technology.

Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorder and often remains undetected until major regression occurs at around one year of age.  Children may lose acquired skills and become withdrawn.  They will have profound and multiple physical and communication disabilities and will be totally reliant on others for the rest of their lives.

Eye gaze technology can offer a voice to those with communication difficulties.  Rett UK works with families to teach and trial eye gaze machines.

“We were moved by the stories of children who, through the dedication and support of practitioners from Rett UK, were able to find their voice using eye gaze technology, sometimes for the first time.  Opening the door to communication and a more fulfilling, inclusive future.”
